No chance of escape.

In another letter dated 30th August 1942, from his Regimental Officer they hear this

“You have no doubt heard from other sources that Pte. Wilfred Tattersall was taken Prisoner of  War on May 27th. It is regretted that we can give you little information other than to say that as far as could be seen he was uninjured, but owing to the nature of the engagement he had no chance of escape”
